Project Manager


Job Brief

In this exciting new role, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the team, in a newly created role to manage and lead the projects team to organise and deliver all key in house construction and refit projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record and background in construction project management, building teams, team leadership, with business skills and acumen, budgeting, and analysis.

Degree level qualifications would be an advantage but not essential.

The Project Manager will be based in Ghana for the duration of the project and will report directly tothe Chief Executive Officer.

The Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Projects Department and will build, manage and lead the Projects Team to ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget. Co-ordinating internal resources, as well as third party suppliers and contractors for the flawless execution of projects. The position will be interesting, varied and challenging, with excellent prospects.

The role will involve working directly with
• UK based consultants.
• Local Ghanaian consultants
• International contractors and equipment suppliers
• Local Ghanaian contractors and equipment suppliers.
• International equipment suppliers  


Leadership Responsibilities

• Meeting with top management and clients to identify project requirements, delivery timelines and costs.
• Developing detailed project plans to guide clients, staff members and project teams and revising based on changing needs and requirements.
• Identifying and assigning project tasks based on the skill sets, experience, and strengths of staff members.
• Supervise and coordinate construction teams and contractors.
• Monitor construction progress and quality of work, and ensure adherence to project
specifications and regulations. Monitoring project performance to ensure timely delivery.
• Compiling and submitting project status reports to clients, management and other stakeholders
• Work effectively with relevant stakeholders for efficient project implementation.
• Develop excellent leadership, customer relations and communication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders.
• Prepare progress reports and project status updates for all stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
• Manage project close-out activities, including final inspections, commissioning, and handover.
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks


Requirements

• Proven track record in construction, fit out and building project management.
• Experience of building, leading and management of construction projects teams
• Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience
• Ability to effectively communicate with all project parties.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Strong working knowledge of appropriate software
• Able to use standard Microsoft office packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• A hands-on, can-do attitude with initiative to work well individually and in a team.


​Preferred experience

Degree qualified, preferably in the areas of construction management, engineering,
architecture, or a related field.
• Project Management qualification preferred, but not essential.
• Previous involvement in High Complexity Industrial constructions
• Knowledge of Commercial Property & Estates
• Green Field Development experience.
